Mail payments can be submitted with a check or money order. You can submit payment with credit card authorization. Payment for the electronic notary training class must be made by credit card online via the SilverFlume portal

A surety bond issued to an individual must be for the minimum penal sum of $25,000 with the individual named as principal and must include any fictitious name under which the business owner is conducting or advertising document preparation services. A sole proprietorship may not file a business entity bond, however, a sole proprietor may hire employees. In that instance, each employee must have his or her own individual bond in their name. In some instances, a sole proprietorship may be issued to a husband and wife or registered domestic partners. In that instance, each person must have an individual bond in his or her name.

Complete the approved Notary Public Training Course and Exam training through the Secretary of State approved website (link below with Step 1 instructions). Any additional training completed through other providers is not sufficient to meet our State training requirements. Purchase a bond through a surety bonding company that is authorized to perform services in Nevada. Take a notarial oath as mandated by NRS 240.030. The notarial oath can be taken at the same time you file your bond with the County Clerk’s office (following step). File your bond with the appropriate County Clerk’s Office. The County Clerk’s Office will provide you with a Filing Notice.
