Announcement of the passing of Barbara Ray

On behalf of my family, my father, Bill, and my sister Lori, it is with deep sadness that we are sharing the news of the death of our dear sister Barbara. Barbara passed away from cancer on Wednesday, April 26 th, at home in Mathis, Texas.

Barbara was a private person, and only those closest to her knew her well. Her family knew Barbara as incredibly smart, with a phenomenal memory. An American history buff, she sometimes surprised us all by answering all the questions on Jeopardy. Barbara was a trained Genealogist who took great joy in discovering our family history back to the early 1600s. Barbara loved being creative; she was an avid crafter and a calligrapher. Barbara co-founded Notary2Pro with our mom Carol, who passed away in February 2022. Barbara created the first Notary2Pro website and built websites for many Notary2Pro graduates. We will miss her goofy sense of humor, always telling silly jokes we could not help but laugh at. Barbara was incredibly generous, empathetic, and a deeply committed Jesus follower.

We know that Barbara’s passing will be felt by many of you who knew her personally and professionally. We would like to express our sincere gratitude for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time. In lieu of flowers, Barbara would have been grateful for contributions to St. Jude Children’s research hospital. www.stjude.org

A private service will be held for immediate family.

  1. My deepest sympathy to the Ray family. Barbara will be missed by the Notary2Pro family. She built my website for me and we spoke just a couple of months ago. RIP Barbara, I am sure she is in heaven with her dear mother, Carol. Fondly, Judy Jeong

I am so sad to hear this. Barbara was the very first person I spoke to when I called to ask about Notary2Pro training in August of 2014. Although we never met in person, phone calls turned into long conversations once the business at hand was done. She was smart and funny and I enjoyed our annual talks when I would renew my website. I still haven’t gotten over Carols’ passing and now Barbara. My deepest sympathies to the entire Ray family. And to the Notary2Pro family as well.

  3. My heartfelt condolences to Billy, Michael, Lori and all the Ray family. My life was changed forever in all the best ways knowing Carol and Barbara. Both were a tremendous help and blessing to me when I first started out, and continued to be throughout the years. Barbara spoke of her love of Jesus often, and we would have some deep conversations about our faith. I know she’s resting in the arms of our Lord right now. Much love to you all.

  4. Michael,
I am so sorry that you and your family are having to bear the weight of yet another family passing. Barbara was a wonderful woman and a great friend to many. I will always remember her kindness, her sense of humor, and her love of life.

I know that this is a difficult time for you, and I want to offer my deepest condolences. Please know that you are in my thoughts and prayers.

If there is anything I can do to help, please do not hesitate to ask.

My deepest and heartfelt sympathy sent to you all. I never met or spoke to Barbara, but as part of the Notary2 Pro family, she was a bit of a celebrity to me. I’m sure she and Carol are embracing tightly. Heartfelt blessings to you all.
